Anne joins XL Law & Consulting with over fifteen years of experience in higher education law and international affairs.
Anne has worked for the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA), where she drafted and edited analytical papers on higher education legal issues and developments and worked with members to develop and implement legal education programs. Previously, Anne was an attorney with Hogan Lovells, where she advised U.S. and international colleges and universities on a range of legal and regulatory issues, including accreditation, student safety, student privacy, governance, nondiscrimination, free speech, and federal student financial aid. Her education experience also includes serving on the board of trustees and chairing the governance committee of a prominent international school and teaching at a U.S. public school.
Anne has significant international experience, having worked or studied in eight countries. She has worked for the U.S. State Department in the political, economic, and public affairs sections at embassies in Europe and Africa. In these roles, she managed cultural and educational exchange programs, analyzed and reported on political and economic issues (including human rights, rule of law, corruption, labor practices, and economic development), and helped develop foreign policy to advance U.S. interests and strengthen bilateral relationships.
Anne received her B.A. from Princeton University, M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University, and J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.
